Queen Elizabeth II: watch how Her Majesty has changed over 65 years

Queen Elizabeth II was just 25 years old when she became Queen of Great Britain on 6 February 1952.

Today, she marks her sixty-fifth year on the throne – making history as the first British monarch to reach their Sapphire Jubilee.

The Queen is a monarch of firsts, as on 9 September 2015, she became the longest-reigning monarch ever.

The last British monarch to hold the title was Queen Victoria, the Queen's great grandmother, who she reigned for 23,226 days, 16 hours and 23 minutes.

On October 13, 2016, she took up the mantle of the world's longest reigning living monarch following the death of King Bhumibol.

To mark her record-breaking reign, watch how the Queen has changed over 65 years on the throne in The Telegraph's special video portrait using a photograph for every year of her reign.
