Queen marks centenary of British Airways at Heathrow Airport

The Queen visited the headquarters of British Airways at Heathrow Airport on Thursday to mark the airline's centenary year. Her Majesty was shown a photograph of her first transatlantic flight to Montreal with the Duke of Edinburgh in 1951. On seeing the photograph, she said, "we had to land very quickly because it was terribly rough". The Queen also heard about the day in 1947 when she christened an aeroplane and saw a handwritten ticket for her first journey around the Commonwealth in 1953.
