Queen Mary's Hospital Sidcup fire under investigation after 22 people flee building
22 people fled a hospital in Bexley as a fire broke out. Crews were called to Queen Mary's Hospital based in Frognal Road, Sidcup at 9.44am yesterday (Sunday, January 19).
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to the blaze. Three people were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service after 22 people fled the building before London Fire Brigade arrived.
Part of a room on the first floor of a two-storey building was damaged by the fire, which was put out by 10.36am. Its cause is under investigation.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: "Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a hospital on Frognal Avenue in Sidcup. Part of a room on the first floor of a two storey building was damaged by the fire.
"22 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. Three people were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service.
"Control Officers took the first of three calls at 0944 and mobilised crews from Sidcup, Eltham and Orpington fire stations to the scene. The incident was over for firefighters at 1036. The cause of the fire is under investigation."
