The Queen has sparked health concerns after being photographed with what appears to be a purple hand.

The 92-year-old monarch was pictured with daughter Princess Anne, as they hosted King Abdullah, Queen Rania and Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

But social media users noticed that the Queen appeared to have a purple hand or what might be a bruise on her left hand and began posting well-wishes.

Her Majesty, who turns 93 in April, is generally in good health. She was admitted to hospital in 2013 aged 86, as a precautionary measure, after developing symptoms of gastroenteritis. A scheduled visit to Rome was called off as a result.

She also had cataract surgery in May 2018 at the private King Edward VII’s hospital, but wore sunglasses in public to avoid cancelling engagements.

The Queen and Princess Royal had a private audience with the King and Queen of Jordan, before hosting lunch.

King Abdullah has just marked the 20th anniversary of his rule – he took his country’s throne on February 7, 1999 on the death of his father, King Hussein.

He and Queen Rania also attended the conference ”Jordan: Growth and Opportunity,” while in London, where Prime Minister Theresa May gave a speech.

Next week the Queen will host a reception at Buckingham Palace to mark the 50th anniversary of the investiture of the Prince of Wales, where Charles, Camilla, the Cambridges and the Sussexes will be in attendance.
