Queen's state funeral: Thousands gather in London to say goodbye to Britain's longest-serving monarch

Hundreds of thousands of people descended on London today for Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral.

Members of the public, many of whom will have never known another British monarch, wanted to pay their respects to a sovereign who served them for 70 years.

On a crisp autumn morning in the capital, people who camped overnight woke to take their place at the barriers along The Mall. Similar scenes took place in Windsor as mourners gathered down The Long Walk.
