Queenslander Makes Most of Cyclone Owen by Skimboarding in Flooded Paddock

Queensland man Michael Dunk didn’t let wet weather ruin the start to his weekend on Friday, December 14, when he skim-boarded along a flooded paddock near Airlie Beach.

Cyclone Owen, which had not yet made landfall on Friday, had caused heavy rainfall along the north Queensland coast.

The region was lashed with heavy rainfall, strong winds and flash flooding when the tropical cyclone did make landfall at around 3 am on Saturday, according to the Townsville Bulletin.
