Quentin Tarantino reveals his 10th film is on hold

Quentin Tarantino has put his 10th film on hold as he takes a break from the big screen to work on a play, a book and a television series.

The Oscar-winning director and screenwriter, who has long said he will retire after making 10 movies, scored a huge hit this year with his ninth film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

At a Bafta event in central London he said there would definitely be a 10th film but “it’s going to be a little bit down the line”.

Tarantino, 56, became an immediate sensation in 1992 with Reservoir Dogs, which took an art-house approach to a violent crime thriller.

He has since won two Oscars, for the Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained screenplays.

He said he paused before making his latest film, inspired by the Manson family murders in Sixties Hollywood and starring Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, because he was “just really plugged into writing”.
