Quick-thinking owner saves pet dog - by giving her the Kiss of Life

A quick-thinking dog owner saved his pet pooch’s life after she suffered a heart attack – by giving her the kiss of life.

Trevor Jackson was walking his greyhound Princess when she suddenly collapsed.

Quick-thinking Trevor, 57, flagged down a passing car and while the two young women inside drove him to the nearest vets, he locked lips with Princess, giving her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation in the back of the car.

“It was really scary,” said Trevor. “I could see straight away that Princess was dying and her face was turning blue in the car. I was just desperately trying to keep her awake.”

Princess, 11, was given emergency medical treatment and survived the January 26 ordeal – despite being just minutes from death.

And now Trevor, from Hull, East Yorkshire, wants to track down the women who helped him.

He said: “I just want to say thank you to them. It’s really quite emotional for me.

“There was no time to stop and talk, but they’ve helped save her life. The vets told me that she was minutes away from dying.”

Recovered – Princess has suffered no lasting effects from her ordeal and has been given the all-clear

Trevor added: “It’s a memory I’ve got for life now, and I don’t want to not know who it was who helped me.”

He has since taken Princess for a check-up and his four-legged friend has been given the all-clear, with her dramatic day leaving no lasting effects.
