The quiet Essex street perfect for commuters full of million-pound homes
Ever wanted to live down a quiet street full of huge homes that still have easy access to train stations and a town centre? With this Essex street, you can - but it will be at a huge expense to your bank account.
Baymans Wood in Shenfield is a quiet residential street located just off Priests Lane. This street is full of homes that sell for well over £1m - with the last sale being a property costing £1.5m.
Not only are the homes in this street gorgeous, with stunning character and plenty of bedrooms, but the location is what makes this street so sought after. Baymans Wood is located within walking distance of Shenfield train station, which takes commuters directly into London via a fast train.

It is also near plenty of schools, with Brentwood School and Brentwood County High School both within walking distance. This location makes it a perfect place to move to if you have secondary-school-age children at Brentwood.
Of course, a huge advantage comes with being directly next to Brentwood town centre, with a supermarket, restaurants and cafes all on your doorstep. This street is not loud, either, as it is a tiny cul-de-sac.
This means that you get all the benefits of being in a busy town - without traffic distancing you. MyLondon spoke with Shenfield residents about the perks of living in the town.
Resident Iraz Keeling said: “It's full of friendly people, and it’s easy to commute to London. If you live here, you don’t really need to go anywhere else because you’ve got all the shops, little markets, fishmongers… And there are a lot of nice schools for little ones.”
Gabriela Ryan said Shenfield is the perfect place to raise a family, noting its suburban appeal. She added: “It’s suburban enough that there are lovely houses and parks, but you’ve got the Elizabeth Line as well, which takes you quickly into London.
"I’ve lived in here my whole life, and I can truly say I’ve never felt unsafe here, making this the perfect place to raise a family.” So - if you have a spare £1m, it seems like this street in Shenfield is truly an idyllic place to live.
