Scary movie fans can rejoice, because John Krasinski's thriller A Quiet Place 2 has had its release date brought forward by two months.

According to Deadline, Paramount has changed the release date of the film from its previously announced May 15, 2020 date, to an earlier one of March 20, 2020.

John Krasinski revealed he was writing the sequel to A Quiet Place in October 2018, and he's been confirmed to direct as well.

A Quiet Place was originally released in 2018, and focused on a post-invasion (as opposed to post-apocalypse) world in which deadly creatures attracted by sound hunt and kill humans ruthlessly.

The film followed Lee (Krasinski), his wife Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and their kids as they attempt to stay silent and so stay alive.

The new flick will see the return of Blunt, alongside Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds as Evelyn's children Marcus and Regan. They'll be joined by Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy whose role is under wraps so far, but he's said to be playing "a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit".

The cast have previously teased some possible directions that sequel could go down, with Krasinski stating it's less about the villain (à la Alien) but actually the "set of rules" that have "very different facets" that can be explored.

But then he also teased Digital Spy by saying that he's going to come back as a ghost in the sequel, although that's (probably?) a joke.

Filming is expected to take place this summer.
