Quorn fans divided as new product leaves some people 'disappointed'
Quorn, the popular meat substitute brand, has excited both vegetarians and meat eaters with the announcement of a new addition to their veggie range.
The food company, known for its vegetarian and vegan products, has seen a surge in popularity over recent years, even among meat-eaters who sometimes choose Quorn over traditional meat items (Slimming World even ranks Quorn nuggets as less fattening than their chicken counterparts).
The brand recently revealed its latest product, Cheesy Nacho Nuggs, on its Instagram page, stating: "BRAND NEW PRODUCT DELICIOUSNESS INCOMING... QUORN CHEESY NACHO NUGGS.
"Coated in a crunchy, cheesy tortilla style coating, these are definitely nacho average nugget. They're the perfect combo of cheese, spice and crunch. A flavour fiesta is coming to Tesco from 9th September, set your alarms nugg lovers."

The new product will be available at Tesco from September 9. Fans expressed their excitement for the new product, with one commenting: "I've never ever been so excited for a food product EVER!!!!!" Another added: "Already know these are going to be amazing."
One fan lamented not having a local Tesco, hoping that the product would also be available at Morrisons or Sainsbury's, reports the Mirror.
In response, Quorn confirmed: "Hey there, thanks for reaching out! Yes, the Nacho Nuggs will come to those stores in early October!!"
However, the new product has not been well received by all Quorn enthusiasts. Many have pointed out that despite being vegetarian, the nuggets are not suitable for vegans due to the cheese content.
One disgruntled former Quorn consumer voiced their disappointment on social media: "Stopped buying @quorn_uk products due to them adding egg to their previously vegan products, when questioned as to why, their customer service stated 'to make them taste better' utterly disgraceful company".
Another user expressed their frustration: "Disappointing, it's 2024 make more vegan products", while a third chimed in with: "Did you know theres egg/cheese replacements- its 2024 babe. Get with it."
A fourth hopeful customer shared their desire for a vegan alternative, writing: "You had me at NACHO!! But they aren't Vegan!"
