'R.I.P little man': Messages of support to family of boy, 11, who died after being hit by car

Messages of support have been sent to the family of a schoolboy who died following a crash. Emergency services were called at 5.12pm on Tuesday, November 12 to reports of a crash on Wrexham Road, near to the entrance of Kings School in Chester.

Officers attended the scene and found there had been a crash between a grey Nissan Qashqai and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, an 11-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

Police have confirmed the boy died this morning, Saturday, November 16. His family are being supported by specialist officers. The driver of the Nissan, a 28-year-old woman from Wrexham, was uninjured during the incident and no arrests have been made.

Following the news, ECHO readers paid tribute to the young boy and sent messages of support to his family. Writing on Facebook, Carol Gillham said "Heartbreaking. Thoughts with the young boys family and friends."

Paulette Williams added: "Just heartbreaking for family and friends, taken far too soon RIP little man and thought to all his family." Lisa Williams also said: "Absolutely heartbreaking. RIP little man shine bright for you mum and dad family and friends."

Wendy Sprung said: "How very sad rip beautiful angel thoughts and prayers to his family." As part of ongoing enquiries, officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or CCTV footage to come forward.

Sergeant Russell Sime, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We understand that this was distressing incident, and our thoughts remain with the victim’s family at this difficult time. As part of our ongoing enquiries we are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information about it, to get in touch.

The same goes for anyone who may have captured the incident on dashcam or on CCTV." Anyone with any information or CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact Cheshire Police via 101 or online, quoting IML-1961446.
