R-Patz Gets On His Bike - Without A Helmet

Robert Pattinson has been photographed riding a bike in Australia - without wearing a cycle helmet.

The 26-year-old Twilight actor was snapped riding the bicycle in Adelaide, the state capital of South Australia.

A photo in the Adelaide Advertiser showed him wearing only a baseball cap, turned backwards.

Local law insists cyclists must wear an approved helmet - also ensuring it is properly fastened.

While Pattinson could have ended up with a fine, unconfirmed reports said he had been let off with a caution.

Pattinson was also wearing a baseball cap - this time the right way round - when he touched down at Melbourne Airport on his arrival in Oz two weeks ago.

He then flew on to Adelaide after arriving from Los Angeles.

The British actor is Down Under to shoot The Rover, a futuristic Western set in the Australian desert.

The Rover co-stars Aussie actor Guy Pearce, 45, who played a drag queen in The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pattinson plays an injured gang member called Rey.

Pearce's character Eric is forced to join forces with Rey and hunt down his gang after they steal the last of his possessions.

Following his roles in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire and The Twilight Saga, Forbes ranked R-Patz him as one of the most powerful celebrities in the world.

But since the Twilight series ended last year, Pattinson has ventured into doing small independent films.
