22 Kids and Counting's Sue Radford escapes car crash

The mother of 22 was grateful none of her children were in the car with her.

Sue Radford — mother of Britain's biggest family — has said she is "thankful" after escaping a car accident without serious injuries.

The star of Channel 5 show 22 Kids And Counting revealed she had been involved in a collision that had severely damaged the Radford family car, but was just grateful none of her children were with her.

Sue, 47, shared on their Instagram story: "Not how I expected my day to go but thankfully everyone was ok.

"The car isn't but it's only metal and can be sorted.

"So thankful I didn't have the kids in the car though. Also thank you to all who stopped to ask if I was ok.''

Sue and husband Noel Radford, 52, from Morecombe in Lancashire rose to fame as the biggest family in the UK and are parents to 22 children.

They star in their own hit reality show on Channel 5, charting family life.

They recently announced they are taking a short break but confirmed they will be filming a fourth series of 22 Kids and Counting.

They said in a statement: "We just want to say a huge thank you for all the love and support you’ve shown throughout our series , we truly appreciate each and every comment and message we’ve received so thank you.

"So chuffed to say our programme was no.1 on ch5 most Sundays and doing really well on my5 every week with it being the most watched programme on my5.

"We are currently having a well earned little break from filming before heading into filming series 4 which we are very excited about."

The Radfords are parents to Christopher, 32, Sophie, 28, Chloe, 26, Jack, 25, Daniel, 23, Luke, 21, Millie - 20, Katie, 19, James,18, Ellie, 17, Aimee, 16, Josh, 14, Max,13, Tillie, 12, Oscar, 10, Casper, nine, Hallie, seven, Phoebe, five, Archie, four, three-year-old Bonnie and two-year-old Heidie.

They had a son Alfie who was stillborn in 2014.

They also have 13 grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

They rose to fame in the Channel 4 documentary series 15 Kids And Counting in 2012 before getting their own series on Channel 5.

Sue and Noel were both adopted as babies and met as children. They married in 1993 and recently celebrated their 30th wedding with a luxury holiday to the Maldives.
