Greg James's BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show is getting a new time slot, as the station ends the temporary schedule it put in place amid the ongoing pandemic.

As of September 1, the segment will air from 7am to 10.30am Monday through Thursday, after Adele Roberts's Early Breakfast Show, which means listeners can enjoy the presenter's antics until a little bit later in the morning.

During the height of the COVID-19 crisis, Greg's Breakfast show ran between 7am and 11am, but more recently aired from 7am until 10am with Radio 1 Anthems with Greg James following.

Elsewhere, Clara Amfo's will move to a 10.30am – 1pm slot, Scott Mills will take over from her until 3.30pm and Nick Grimshaw will be on from 3.30pm to 6pm.

On Fridays, Arielle Free will present the Early Breakfast Show from 4am to 6.30am, after which The Saturdays' Mollie King will play half-hour of pure pop.

"As a station it's important we evolve along with the changing needs of our young listeners and I'm pleased to be able to introduce some important changes to the schedule with that in mind as we return to an on-air format that our listeners know and love," Aled Haydn Jones, Head of Radio 1, explained in a statement.

"A new time slot for Radio 1 Breakfast means we can bring Greg's trademark brand of light-hearted entertainment to as many young people as possible, while bringing our evening schedule an hour earlier means we can do even more to support new music and breaking new UK artists."
