RAF Plane Formations Soar Above Heathrow Airport for Queen's Platinum Jubilee
Spectacular aircraft displays soared over crowds across London and the south of England on Thursday, June 2, in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
Footage captured by Instagram user @matthewkennedylhr shows the display on Thursday afternoon at Heathrow Airport, as military aircraft flew in the formation of the number 70 to mark the queen’s 70 years on the throne.
The demonstration was finished by the Royal Air Force Red Arrows with red, white, and blue exhausts in honor of the colors of the Union Jack flag.
The Royal Air Force said on Twitter that up to 70 aircraft would participate in the flyover, which followed the Trooping the Colour parade and the royal family’s balcony appearance. Credit: @matthewkennedylhr via Storyful
