Rafferty Law says he’s been trolled because of famous parents

Rafferty Law has said that he's been subjected to online trolling as a result of his famous parents.

Law, 24, the son of actor Jude Law and model Sadie Frost has revealed to Tatler magazine the downsides of social media.

He said: “I get a lot of abuse because of my family and people commenting on my appearance, it has been a part of my life always.”

Growing up in the spotlight, Law admitted that those around him were not as accustomed to the trolling that fame, sadly, brings with it: “Luckily I am pretty thick-skinned and can take it, but I have seen people around me get eaten up by trolls and social media.”

As front man of self-described “punky, funky street rock” band Outer Stella Overdrive, the talented musician shared there are positives to social media in regard to promoting the band.

The band, made up of Law, drummer Rudy Albarn who is the nephew of Blur’s Damon Albarn, Jamin Amin on keyboard and backing vocalist and bass player Kelvin Bueno admit that although some of their influences are close to home, Law was adamant that they want to make their own success.

“Damon [Albarn] has obviously been a big influence on my life and he’s supportive in listening to our music, but he has not gone out and opened doors for us,” he remarked.

He continued to say that he would “never ask” his parents to give him money to put into the band, admitting that the band is like a “four-way marriage” in that they are all equal and all find ways to fund studio time or people to borrow equipment from.

Not content with only sowing his seeds in the music industry, Law has also followed in his father’s footsteps and recently starred in an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist – Twist, alongside Michael Caine and Rita Ora.

Speaking on his parents encouragement of his creative career path, Law opened up to Tatler about how he and his father would play like they were “making a film” and that he was “always playing music” while his sister Iris would put on a dance show for their Mum.
