Raging lorry driver blocks busy Motherwell street in tense showdown with motorist

A raging trucker has been filmed blocking a busy Motherwell street during an angry confrontation with the driver of a car.

It is understood that the incident, which left motorists beeping their horns in frustration, happened at around 7pm on Thursday, January 16, on Manse Road close to Airbles Roundabout.

In the clip, the driver of the livestock carrier can be seen jumping out of the lorry as traffic waits at the roundabout. The trucker is then seen going to the window of a blue 4x4.

The pair are then seen arguing, with the trucker repeatedly pulling the driver's door open before he eventually steps out of the vehicle.

A motorist who shared the footage with Glasgow Live said: "I was driving along and heard there HGV use its horn at the roundabout before. But I couldn't see why.

"There was a build-up of traffic at the next roundabout so everyone had stopped. The lorry driver came barreling out of the truck which looked like it was hauling livestock.

"He was clearly angry about something. His face was nearly purple.

"He went round to the driver side of the blue car and started having an argument. The guy in the car went to leave but slammed on the brakes, and they continued.

"The driver opened their door and then there was sort of a pulling match between them where the trucker kept pulling the door open to continue the argument. I thought they were going to start physically fighting when the guy got out of the car.

"People were beeping their horns behind them because they were blocking both lanes. But the lorry driver backed off and went back to his cab.

"It was a crazy moment."

It is understood that both drivers left the scene shortly after the incident.
