Rail services on Tyne Valley Line disrupted after signalling fault
Rail services operating on the Tyne Valley Line were disrupted on Wednesday morning after a fault on signalling systems.
The signalling fault occurred between Haltwhistle and Brampton, affecting Northern services travelling between Carlisle, Newcastle and Morpeth. This morning's issues come just days after Hexham MP Joe Morris raised the issue of delays on the Tyne Valley Line with the Transport Secretary in Parliament.
Disruption was first reported by Northern at 8.42am. The operator reported that the disruption had ended at 11.09am and advised any passengers affected to go to the Delay Repay page.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "We are sorry to passengers who were impacted by a fault with our signalling systems between Haltwhistle and Brampton.
"Our teams worked hard to get the issue fixed as quickly as possible and trains were running again by 9.20am. While timetables return to normal we’d advise passengers to check National Rail Enquiries before setting off on their journey."
