Rail strikes are OFF: RMT announces series of walkouts from Saturday are suspended after ‘promise of pay offer’

A series of planned strikes from Saturday by railway workers has been suspended, the RMT union announced on Friday.Three 24-hour rail walkouts were set to be held by the RMT union on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, meaning the national network including trains in and out of London faced significant disruption.The RMT released a statement on Friday afternoon announces those planned strikes were now off, saying the union would now “enter into a period of intensive negotiations with Network Rail and the train operating companies”.
