Normal service has resumed after an emergency incident caused severe delays and disruption to train services yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene of an incident between East Croydon and Clapham Junction which meant all lines were blocked.

This caused cancellations and disruptions to Southern and Gatwick Express services between London Victoria and Brighton.

Passengers faced cancellations and delays of up to an hour.

All lines were reopened and the incident has not caused further disruption.
