Rain to batter Lancashire as Met Office issue yellow weather warning
Heavy rain is expected over the next few days as the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for much of the UK.
The warning is in place for the entirety of today and tomorrow (September 23), with the meteorological office stating areas of heavy rain could bring disruption over the next couple of days. In Lancashire specifically, this weather warning is mainly in place for tomorrow, as patchy rain will start overnight tonight.
For tonight, the forecast reads: "Patchy rain spreads northwards towards Lancashire overnight, with occasional heavy bursts further south," the Met Office states. "Drier in the north, though still rather cloudy, and breezy over the Pennines and in the west. Minimum temperature 14 °C."

Tomorrow's forecast reads: "Patchy drizzle lingers across the north, whilst a more organised band of persistent rain, occasionally heavy, pushes gradually north-eastwards further south. Beginning to feel cooler with strengthening north-easterly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C."
The Met Office states spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some temporary road closures. It also says there's a small chance some rural communities could be cut off by flooded roads and there may be delays or cancellations from public transport.
Homes and businesses could be flooded too, causing damage to some buildings. There's also a small chance of power cuts and the loss of service to homes and businesses as well.
