Rain Pelts Annapolis as Storms Hit East Coast

Heavy rain fell on Annapolis, Maryland, on Thursday, June 2, as a storm system put more than half a dozen eastern states under severe weather watches, per the National Weather Service (NWS).

AJ Metcalf said he filmed this footage in Annapolis on Thursday as the storm struck.

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for Annapolis, with the NWS forecasting wind of up to 60 mph and possible penny-sized hail.

The NWS had extended a severe thunderstorm watch also for parts of Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia until 9 pm Thursday. Credit: AJ Metcalf via Storyful
