Video transcript

RAINN WILSON: Congratulations on you and your team and your great work and--

AUSTIN EKELER: I appreciate that.

RAINN WILSON: Matt, they didn't have a larger--

MATT HARMON: No.

RAINN WILSON: They didn't have a larger sippy cup?

MATT HARMON: No, unfortunately they did not. So this is all I have to go with right now. I mean, that's a pretty decent sized mug though for you as well.

RAINN WILSON: Can you-- this is a pretty good coffee mug. Can you show us your sippy cup?

AUSTIN EKELER: Yes.

RAINN WILSON: Wow.

AUSTIN EKELER: They didn't have any water bottles so he got the small aquarium.

MATT HARMON: Yeah. To be clear Rainn, I have a pretty big head. So that it's a full gallon there. This can be considered a weapon I think in at least six of the 50 states.

All right. Now joining Ekeler's Edge is Rainn Wilson, star of "The Office" and the upcoming movie "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story." Rainn Wilson, I am so excited to welcome you to the show. Welcome back for season two of Ekeler's Edge.

RAINN WILSON: I love it. I love it. Although why not call it Harmon's Hedge?

MATT HARMON: Ekeler's Edge and Harmon's Hedge that would be--

AUSTIN EKELER: We will consider it.

RAINN WILSON: Good to be back. Big fans of both yours. Austin, as you know, you're in my keeper league.

AUSTIN EKELER: We're doing well.

RAINN WILSON: Killing it this year. But with Keenan and Mike Williams out on the Chargers I think they're going to be looking for some more help at wide receiver and I just want to know if there's some kind of open call or if you're--

AUSTIN EKELER: Yeah.

RAINN WILSON: Accept you audition, you try out. What do you call that for a football team?

AUSTIN EKELER: Yeah, I guess it's a tryout, I guess that we'll have if we're bringing in people.

MATT HARMON: I don't know maybe, Rainn, are you actually trying to audition for or trying to try out for the Chargers wide receivers?

RAINN WILSON: Yeah.

MATT HARMON: Like maybe the slot guy there.

RAINN WILSON: How hard could it be? I mean, with Justin Herbert. I mean, he hits you on your fingertips man. It's like it's not that hard.

AUSTIN EKELER: No, it's not.

RAINN WILSON: Run five steps this way, turn this way, catch the ball. Like it's not that hard.

AUSTIN EKELER: You got it. You got it down. I'd pick you up, Rainn. I'm letting you know right now, I'd pick you up on my fantasy team if you a pick.

MATT HARMON: All right. OK.

AUSTIN EKELER: I think you got some promise in you for sure.

RAINN WILSON: Very good. I'm [? wily. ?]

AUSTIN EKELER: We need that. We definitely need that. That's a good skill.

MATT HARMON: So Rainn, tell us about "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story." It's streaming for free on the Roku channel starting November 4th. That's this Friday. It's coming up. Tell the folks about it.

RAINN WILSON: Yeah. Yeah, no, this movie, I have never been a part of a movie that has this much buzz and excitement around it. And the great thing about this is so it's a comedic biopic of Weird Al Yankovic. So it's kind of like airplane and that it's a send up of biopics, you know. But Al has more fans than you'd ever possibly know. I mean Weird Al has fans that are nine-years-old and are 90-years-old. I mean, everyone loves Weird Al. He's an icon. And this really captures the spirit of Weird Al.

And I got to say Daniel Radcliffe, a.k.a. Harry Potter, as the lead playing Al is fantastic. He's so committed to the role. He learned the accordion. He learned all the songs. And he's really amazing in it.

- Oh my little hungry one. Hungry one. Opened up a package of my banana.

- Dude, I've got chills.

RAINN WILSON: So thrilled to be a part of it. I play Dr. Demento. In the movie Dr. Demento, of course, discovered Weird Al and put him on the radio for the first time.

- Wait are you saying you want to be my mentor?

- No, I'm saying I want to be your [? day ?] mentor.

MATT HARMON: We can't wait to check it out. Rainn, thanks so much for joining the show.

AUSTIN EKELER: Yes. Always a pleasure, Rainn. Thank you so much man.

RAINN WILSON: Check out "Weird" on the Roku channel. Thanks for having me, guys.

AUSTIN EKELER: Absolutely.

MATT HARMON: Thanks, Rainn. Appreciate it.
