Ram raid shock as van crashes into Post Office in South Gloucestershire

A van was crashed into a South Gloucestershire Post Office before two men entered the shop, police have said. The incident happened in Flaxpits Lane, Winterbourne, on Tuesday night (January 21) and a cordon remained in place this morning (Wednesday).

The silver van smashed through the Post Office's front window and the two men who entered the premises were seen leaving a short while later. Avon and Somerset Police were called to the scene at around 11.50pm and fficers are now appealing for information.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were attended a business in Flaxpits Lane, Winterbourne, at around 11.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 21 January) after we were notified of an alarm being activated.

"A silver van had collided with the building and two men were seen entering the shop. They left a short time later.
