The Range responds to concerns over new store policy
The Range recently introduced a new store policy that has divided opinion. Dog owners no longer need to leave their pets outside or at home as stores across the UK are now completely dog-friendly.
The new policy requires owners to keep their dogs on leads at all times and clean up any potential mess. The Range also stated it would welcome "well-behaved dogs only". Dog lovers were thrilled with the change as it meant more time with their furry friends, especially for those with supportive needs.
Facebook user Lee Lonnie said: "Is right, about time more stores need to do this. And for all those who don't like it tough. The majority of dogs are better behaved than the majority of the kids anyway. As I know mine is."

However, not everyone was pleased. Lynn Weaver said: "I am a dog owner but disagree with this the range as a food section the dog might pee up the freezers or on the shelves or poo on the floor not very hygienic around food that’s my opinion."
Chris Gouldson said: "Is this necessary not everyone is OK with animals some people are afraid and allergic to animals. It's a shop and I don't think it's big enough to accommodate dogs you can just about manoeuvre around the store."

Doreen Staples: "Absolutely ridiculous. Guide dogs yes but not any others. It’s a shop, not a field. I’m disabled and the last thing I want to worry about is tripping over someone’s dog."
Slyvia Bartsch: "It’s not sufficient to say dogs must be on leads and well controlled by the person they are with. If they are to be allowed in shops with other shoppers, they should be wearing a muzzle. There could shoppers, both adult & children, who are afraid of dogs. I don’t believe that any shops should allow dogs in."

The Liverpool ECHO took the above comments to The Range for a response. A spokesperson at The Range said: “Many customers think of pets as family members, which is why we want to let them in store wherever we can. We’re delighted that the feedback has been largely positive, with most customers loving the change.
“To ensure a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for all visitors, The Range and Wilko ask that dog owners adhere to a few simple guidelines:
Dogs must always be on a lead while inside a store and be kept from food aisles
Owners are responsible for their dogs' behaviour and must ensure that they are well-behaved and do not disturb other customers
Owners must clean up after your dog if necessary, and be mindful of their surroundings"
