Range Rover stolen near TX Maxx from Jolly Sailor Retail Park before crashing near pub

A luxury car was stolen from a busy Staffordshire retail park before the driver crashed it near a pub. The theft took place at the Jolly Sailor Retail Park off Ventura park Road in Tamworth on Tuesday, August 27.

A thief has taken a grey Range Rover Sport with an 07 registration plate without a key shortly after midday, when the vehicle was parked close to the park’s TK Maxx store. It was stolen between 12.15pm and 12.45pm.

But the thief’s driving skills did not last long as the Range Rover crashed near The Whittington Arms pub in Tamworth Road between Tamworth and Lichfield. The thief or thieves then fled the scene and the vehicle was recovered by Staffordshire Police for forensics analysis.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police’s Tamworth team said: “On Tuesday, August 27, between 12.15pm and 12.45pm unknown offenders stole an 07-plate grey Range Rover Sport without keys from the Jolly Sailor Retail Park car park near to TK Maxx.

“The vehicle was found a short time later at around 12.50pm on Tamworth Road, Whittington Heath near to the Whittington Arms pub. It had crashed and been abandoned by the offenders and was seized for forensics.
