Rangers ready to turn to ex-Hull City star to replace James Tavernier
Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers are reportedly ready to offer former Hull City defender Cyrus Christie a deal, should they lose James Tavernier in the coming days.
Christie has been without a club since his contract at the MKM Stadium expired in July, but several Championship clubs have been weighing up a move. Coventry City, Preston North End and Millwall are among the sides interested in the 31-year-old, but now reports suggest Rangers could be set to offer him a contract.
The Gers are facing up to the prospect of Tavernier departing, with clubs in Turkey and Qatar - where the transfer window is still open - keen to sign the 32-year-old. HITC report that Philippe Clement could now turn to Christie, who offers plenty of experience in a key position.

Christie made 56 appearances for the Tigers in two seasons on Humberside, scoring three times after signing from Fulham in 2022. He has played 461 games in a lengthy career that started with Coventry and has seen moves to Derby and Middlesbrough before a switch to Craven Cottage.
After leaving City this summer, he wrote on social media: "Thank you to the fans, team-mates, and staff for the unwavering support at @hullcity," he wrote. "It's been an honour to wear the jersey and represent this club. Wishing you all the best in the future."
