The rapper boyfriend of actor John Michie’s daughter blames the Holby City star and his wife for failing to get help as she died of drugs overdose, a court heard.

Ceon Broughton allegedly stood by and filmed 24-year-old Louella Fletcher-Michie while she was suffering hallucinations and calling out for her parents having taken the substance 2C-P at Dorset's Bestival music festival in September 2017.

Broughton denied giving her the drug or taking any himself. But prosecutors claim he did not get help because he was serving a suspended sentence and would likely be jailed if he was found to have supplied her with drugs.

The grime star said during a police interview that he had wanted to carry his girlfriend to the medical tent, which was just 400 metres away, but her parents told him to call a staff member over instead, Winchester Crown Court heard.

The 29-year-old told officers the day after her death that he thought she had taken LSD and was "fine at first" but then the situation "spiralled" out of control.

He said: "I called her mum and she told me to get to someone in high vis. I was trying to calm [Louella] down, she was rolling around in stinging nettles and stuff.

"Her mum and dad said they were on their way. I wanted to carry her, I wanted to carry her myself, but they told me to get help. I would have carried her myself."

Broughton, of Enfield, London, denies manslaughter and supplying class A drugs.

The trial continues.
