The four-year-old daughter of rapper Fetty Wap has died, her mother has confirmed.

Rumours that Lauren Maxwell, who was born in 2017, had died, began circulating last month, but neither parent shared any information.

However, the news was confirmed on Instagram by the girl's mother, Turquoise Miami, who wrote: "This is my amazing, beautiful, funny, vibrant, loving, talented, smart and hardheaded princess mermaid Aquarius.

"If you see this post scrolling by with her comment or just say to yourself 'I love you LAUREN' because they say that souls can feel your love #rip".

Miami's caption was alongside a short, looping clip of her daughter in a swimming pool.

The performer has since deleted other Instagram posts and said she will not be responding to any messages.

It is not known what Lauren Maxwell's cause of death was.

Fetty Wap (real name Willie Maxwell) has not publicly commented on the death of his daughter, but he appeared to make a tribute to her last week, posting an Instagram story following a festival performance saying: "LoLo daddy did that s*** for you last night baby girl".

The actual date of her death is unknown, but reports in the US suggest she died in late June.
