Rapper Nelly Arrested For Raping Woman On His Tour Bus

The rapper Nelly has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman on his tour bus.

Police told KRNV News 4 that a woman had reported the alleged sexual assault took place on Friday night on the tour bus, which was parked outside a Walmart store in Auburn, near Seattle, following his show at the White River Amphitheater.

The musician has denied the allegations; with his lawyer Scott Rosenblum claiming Nelly had been a victim of a false allegation.

The rapper Nelly was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning. Reuters

“Our initial investigation, clearly establishes, this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness,” Rosenbaum said in statement to The Blast on Saturday.

“I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation," his legal representative added.

The rapper was arrested and taken into custody at 4:37 AM on Saturday morning, and was released from custody at 8.02AM, following a 3:48AM phone call from the woman who claimed she had been assaulted by Nelly.

According to The Blast, the “Hot In Here” singer is currently still expected to continue performing on his current tour, which he is on with the Florida Georgia Line.

Indeed, his next show is scheduled for Saturday evening at the Sunlight Supply Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington; which will see him perform less than a day after his release from jail, if he does indeed take the stage.

Nelly has not made any comment on the allegation other than through his lawyer. His last public tweet, made following his Friday night performance, Read: “Anytime you feel like the whole world is against you, you need to scratch that s** its really you against the whole world because the whole world don't know you exist.”
