A rare coin could potentially be worth a significant sum if you're lucky enough to find the right one.

It's no secret certain coins are worth more than others. The iconic Kew Gardens 50p piece which is valued at an eye-watering £250 is highly desirable among Brits and collectors.

Since its release, there's just been 210,000 launched into circulation when it was created to mark the iconic London landmark's 250th anniversary. Now it turns out, this 50p isn't the only one you need to keep your eye on.

According to TikTok user @coincollectingwizard, this particular coin is so scarce that there aren't many available. In a recent video, they discussed the coin in question.

In a recent post, the user spotlighted the Aquatics coin from 2011, which is part of the London 2012 Olympics collection released prior to the games. The version to keep an eye out for features lines across the swimmer's face.

If you're fortunate enough to come across this unique design, it could net you a cool £2,000 if you choose to sell it. The TikTok user explained: "There were many of the pieces released in 2011, but this edition with the lines make it a rare coin to find. Not many have been found."

Since being posted earlier this week, the video has received dozens of likes and comments. One viewer said: "I have exactly like this one but in Kenya."

Another added: "Got one." And a third admitted: "I've got one but not the rare one like the hen's teeth, not many around."
