Rare Snowfall Enchants Brazilian Resort Town

People gathered in the streets of Gramado, a resort town in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, to enjoy rarely seen snowfall on July 28.

The country’s weather service, MetSul, said they hadn’t seen conditions of snow and strong winds in the region in over 30 years.

Wind speeds of 70 km/h (43 mph) were measured in nearby San Francisco de Paula, MetSul reported.

Multiple cities in southern Brazil recorded snow on Wednesday, according to local media.
