'Rat' spotted among crisps and drinks in Hunslet Morrisons
A 'rat' has been spotted inside a Morrisons store here in Leeds as supermarket bosses have been forced to call in pest control experts.
The rodent was spotted perched on top of a refrigerator unit among crisps and drinks at a Morrisons store in Hunslet, Leeds sat near to the drinks fridges inside, just above packets of crisps. The animal was spotted by customers in the shop, and a video started to circulate on social media, but the incident has since been reported to Morrisons itself.
Now, the store has provided an update on the situation at the store, saying they believe the animal was in fact a mouse and the incident is believed to be an isolated one.

Morrisons said they take food safety seriously and have permanent pest control measures in place inside all of their stores. They became aware of the picture of the rodent, and launched an investigation at the Yorkshire-based store.
In addition, they called in the pest control group Rentokil to assist.
A statement from the supermarket read: "Nothing is more important than food safety and we have pest control measures in all our stores permanently. As soon as we became aware of this picture we launched an investigation at the store and we have a Rentokil on site."
