Raven-Symoné Thinks Caitlyn Jenner May Be Moving ‘Too Fast, Too Soon’

Caitlyn Jenner has been going from strength-to-strength ever since she made her debut on the cover of Vanity Fair, recently receiving an overwhelming amount of praise on social media following the premiere of ‘I Am Cait’.

While Raven-Symoné is also proud of her and thinks her coming out as transgender is “wonderful,” she does have some issues with some of the former Olympian’s actions.

The View panellist made her comments on Monday’s show, revealing that she believes Caitlyn, 65, should really get to know the LGBTQ+ community before speaking out publicly in support.

The 29-year-old, who came out last year, said: “I think it’s wonderful, and yes, it needs a light being shined on it.

“When I came out, I didn’t go and go hardcore and be like, ‘I’m going to save the world for LGBT…’ You’ve got to learn it. You’ve got to learn it first, and she’s not, really.”

Rosie Perez, who hosts the show, responded by suggesting Cait had waited for the right moment and platform to speak out and open up the important conversation.

Raven replied: “Well, I think you can be strategic before you come out as well.

“Before [I came out], I was definitely repping the community, even when I wasn’t saying this is what I was. And I’m not faulting [Caitlyn], because yes, we need [her]. It’s too fast, too soon.”

That’s, er, not so Raven.

She added: “I can’t be [an activist for the LGBTQ+ community]. I learned from the real gay rights activists. I can only do what I can.”

Meanwhile, Caitlyn herself has apparently been left feeling “hurt” after Kylie Jenner was the only member of the Kardashian-Jenner Klan to make any mention of ‘I Am Cait’ on social media during its premiere.

A source told RadarOnline: “Caitlyn was really hurt [last night].

“She was really bothered by the fact that her family didn’t show their support online on their Twitter or Instagram accounts like they do for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, or for their own projects.”

“Caitlyn felt unfairly treated because so many of her kids or family members wouldn’t even take the time to post a simple message on their social media accounts this weekend.”
