A woman who opened a raw dog food shop near Stroud earlier this year, has branched out and opened another shop south of Gloucestershire. The new shop opened three weeks ago and the business is said to have been welcomed by the community and canines alike who are lapping up the delicious raw foods and treats on offer.

Lou Talintyre, 50, from Purton, opened her first shop called Bark Raw shop in Cam in January this year. The response to the raw dog food shop and doggy deli has been so good, and with a opportunity to open another, she has branched out and opened another BARK RAW in Thornbury.

Lou said: "We opened the new Bark Raw shop in Cam in January and the reception we had is amazing. Everyone in the community has made us feel so welcome and we feel part of local life.

"It's this wonderful response that has prompted us to use ‘unashamedly local’ as one of our tag lines. We owe a huge vote of thanks to the people of Cam and Dursley and the surrounding area and of course their four-legged friends.

"We were looking for another shop to open, and they say it's all about the location, location, location being everything when it comes to property. So, when we found the unit available in the St. Mary Centre in the town centre of Thornbury, we thought it was too good an opportunity to miss.

"We saw a very similar set of circumstances in Thornbury as we had seen in Cam and didn't feel we could let the opportunity go. As it happens the reception from the local Thornbury community has mirrored that of Cam, it’s been wonderful."

Lou noticed the benefits of giving her dogs a raw food diet. She also says it can help with health conditions the pooch my suffer with, such as food allergies and bad tummies.

She said: "For me, the main reason to feed dogs a fresh food diet is simple, that’s the way they were designed to eat. Just like us humans, they should be eating a minimally processed, nutrient rich, varied diet.

"Like us, It doesn’t need to be perfectly balanced every single day but we should aim for a good range of all the nutrients across a week. The benefits can include a reduction in allergies, itchiness, yeast issues and poor gut health, their weight is much easier to manage, less inflammation, a reduction in doggy odour.

"When dogs consume food higher in fillers, additives, and preservatives, it can lead to some not-so-pleasant 'doggy odour'. Naturally the dogs has cleaner teeth and less bin breath. and less poop to scoop, increased energy, better coat and skin condition and the list goes on.

"We hope people can come and visit us soon and we look forward to meeting more customers and their pet dogs soon."
