Rayners Lane incident: Two London Underground lines partly suspended due to 'person on track'

Two London Underground lines were partly suspended due to a “person on the track” in west London on Monday evening.

Rail users continued to face disruption at around 8.30pm after both the Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines were partly suspended.

People on board a Tube train near Rayners Lane suggested a train made an emergency stop after someone was hit by a train.

Pictures show emergency services at the scene at around 7.45pm.

British Transport Police has been approached for further details.

Services were suspended on the Metropolitan Line between Harrow on the Hill and Uxbridge and on the Piccadilly line between South Harrow and Uxbridge.

Rail users were advised to seek alternative routes if possible.

A Transport for London spokesman said: “[There is] no service between South Harrow and Uxbridge [on the Piccadilly line] due to a person on the track at Rayners Lane.

“We have no service between Harrow on the Hill and Ickingham [on the Metropolitan line]. London Underground tickets are being accepted on local bus services.”

Delays remain in place at 8.40pm.
