Reading Half Marathon: All you need to know about road closures and route
The Reading half marathon is being held on Sunday, April 2, so here is all you need to know about routes, road closures, signing up and volunteering.
The Unleashed Performance Half Marathon will begin at 10:15am and covers a route of 13.1 miles.
The Green Park Challenge is a 3km fun run, open to all the family. The start time is 8:30am.

The Unleashed Performance Half Marathon route by street names:
Longwater Avenue – Brook Drive – Bennet Road – Basingstoke Road – Hartland Road – Whitley Wood Road – Shinfield Road – Pepper Lane – University of Reading – Christchurch Road – Kendrick Road – London Road – London Street – Mill Lane – Yield Hall Place – Minster Road – King Street – Kings Road – Abbey Street – Abbot's Walk – The Forbury – Valpy Street – Blagrave Street – Friar Street – West Street – Oxford Road – Russell Street – Tilehurst Road – Liebenrood Road – Bath Road – Coley Avenue – Berkeley Avenue – Rose Kiln Lane – A33 – Northern Way – Hoops Way – Shooters Way – Madejski Stadium to finish.
The Green Park Challenge covers a small section of the above route.

Tickets are a range of prices depending on charity packages, medals and goody bags.
The half marathon, non affiliated club member, ticket with medal costs £48.
There is a team package for four to six people, costing £260. There will be prizes for the winning teams.
Volunteering
If you are 16 years or older you can volunteer to help out on the day.
Race Maker roles will include:

Water station team member
Start line assistant
In signing up to become a volunteer, you must be available for the whole of Race Day and one training session prior to Race Day. Team leaders will be required to attend the training session and participate as a leader of a group on Race Day.

Road closures
It is suggested you arrive in Reading no later than 08:45 for the Unleashed Performance Reading Half Marathon, or 7:30am for the Green Park Challenge.
There will be various road closures around Reading on race day.
Roads around Green Park and Madejski Stadium will be closed from 7am to 3pm.
The A33 north and south bound will be affected in various places throughout the day. See table below for full details.
Abbey Square, Abbey Street and Abbey Walk will be closed from 9:30am to 12:45pm.
Parts of Friar Street will be closed in the morning too.
All town centre car parks will be open as normal, apart from Oracle Riverside which will open at 12.40pm.
There will still be access to the Royal Berkshire Hospital from London Road.
