Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Kara Keough just shared the terrible news that her newborn son has passed away.

Born in the early morning of April 6, McCoy Casey Bosworth surprised Kara and her husband, Kyle Bosworth with his "overall perfection." Sadly, Kara said that during childbirth, McCoy experienced shoulder dystocia (when a baby's shoulders get stuck) and a compressed umbilical cord, which can reduce oxygen, nutrients, and blood flow to the baby.

Kara told her Instagram followers about McCoy's passing this afternoon, writing, "He joined our Heavenly Father and will live forever in the hearts of his loving parents, his adoring sister [Decker], and those that received his life-saving gifts."

Kara and Kyle chose to donate McCoy's organs and tissue to other kids in need, and Kara wrote a special note for the doctors to read before the procedure. She explained:

"I wrote this for the organ/tissue procurement team to read out in his honor: 'Tonight, we join together to honor this little savior’s gifts of life. Through him, may others find new hope and profound healing... and may he live again through them. May his legacy shine in the form of lifetimes aplenty - lives filled with laughter, compassion, energy, love, and most of all gratitude. May it be said that McCoy Casey Bosworth left this world in a better place, for a better place.... that he made an impact... that he was an answered prayer... that he was a hero. May angels lead him in. Thank you, McCoy.'"

McCoy is survived by his parents, Kara and Kyle, and his 4-year-old sister, Decker.
