Real Madrid have refused to rule out a summer move for Arsenal target Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old is currently one of Europe's most promising young players, having scored 17 goals in 29 appearances for AS Monaco this season.

The forward, whose progress has been tracked by Arsene Wenger in recent months, is also set to make his international debut for France against Luxembourg on Saturday.

But the Gunners are not the only major club expected to be interested in the teenager this summer as Mbappe will have a chance to showcase his talent in the latter stages of the Champions League with a quarter-final tie against Borussia Dortmund on the horizon.

A host of clubs have already been linked with the youngster's signature and Madrid president Florentino Perez has hinted he could be interested in pairing Mbappe with another Frenchman.

“A duo of [Karim] Benzema and Mbappe?” he is quoted as saying by Radio Montecarlo.

“Everything is possible, but at this time of the season, I don't want to talk about that."

Benzema remains Madrid's undisputed first-choice striker but has scored just eight La Liga goals this season.

However, Perez is adamant he remains happy with Benzema's form and has described the 29-year-old as the best striker in world football.

"Karim is a mix of [Zinedine] Zidane and [Cristiano] Ronaldo. He is the best No.9 in the world,” he added.

“I am convinced that he will stay and while now we do not talk about renewals, if it was up to me, I would keep him here during his whole sporting life," Perez added.
