Thibaut Courtois is on the bench for Real Madrid as Julen Lopetegui’s side kick off their La Liga season at home to Getafe tonight .

Keylor Navas keeps his place in goal, with the Belgian summer signing only in reserve for the capital clash at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Gareth Bale will feature in attack alongside Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio, while there is a surprise start for Dani Ceballos, who is joined in midfield by Isco and Toni Kroos, with Luka Modric and Casemiro both substitutes.

Raphael Varane is also out of the side after making mistakes in the Uefa Super Cup loss to Atletico on Wednesday night, so Sergio Ramos is partnered by Nacho in central defence.

Brazilian youngster Vinicius Junior, who was signed last summer from Flamengo but only joined after his 18th birthday this year, starts on the bench.

Getafe are one of five clubs from the Madrid area in La Liga this season. Coach Jose Bordalas hands a debut tonight to goalkeeper David Soria, who was signed from Sevilla this summer, and Serbia midfielder Nemanja Maksimovic, who joined from Valencia last month.
