Real Madrid's Ronaldo returns against Bayern

MADRID (AP) — Cristiano Ronaldo will return from injury to start the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against title holder Bayern Munich on Wednesday, with Gareth Bale on the bench.

Ronaldo has recovered from a left leg muscle injury which sidelined him for four games. His 14 goals in the competition this season tie the record mark.

Bale was coping with 'flu in the buildup to the game at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Forward Isco takes his place in the starting lineup.

Madrid and Bayern renew their European rivalry with a 20th meeting in Europe's premier event.
