Yahoo News The REAL reason Love Island's Gabby didn't bed Marcel
Love Island fans weren't quite sure what to make of Gabby Allen when she refused to have sex with Marcel Somerville in the villa.
Pretty much every other couple did the deed on the show, including Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt.
But Gabby never caved, and this bizarrely led some to question whether her feelings for Marcel were genuine – something she's well aware of after scrolling through her Twitter notifications.
Speaking to Digital Spy just hours after leaving the villa, she explained there's a very good reason she didn't have sex on TV and it had nothing to do with Marcel.
"I've seen lots of talk about me not doing it and apparently that means I don't fancy Marce – that's not true," she said. "It's because I made a promise to my mum and my brother that I wouldn't.
"There were lots of opportunities to have sex in the villa – and it was very difficult not to do it. I am bloody human. Every time I sat on top of him in bed, it would have been easy to do something – but then I would picture my brother's face in my head!
"People don't realise this but there are literally about 1,000 cameras on you all the time. It's hard to get sexy with all that in the background. I don't feel like there should have been any pressure on me to do something just because everyone else was having sex. It didn't sit well with me. And I don't feel like I should be shamed for not having sex on TV."
But the couple weren't just criticised for not having sex in the villa.
Some viewers (and islanders) also accused the couple of not showing affection to one another at all.
"It's ridiculous because we are so affectionate," she added. "We're a bit sickening with it, to be honest. But other people in the villa were a bit more full-on with the PDAs, I guess.
"It is hard to hear that people thought I was fake, but as long as [Marce and I] know what the truth is, that's all that matters."
After keeping Marcel waiting for weeks, Gabby went on to admit that the first thing she did after they left the Love Island villa was have sex.
"It was really good and definitely worth the wait," she continued. "And we're staying in a hotel tonight. I'm excited!"
