As it turns out, the full frontal nudity in that shower scene in the Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story was all Cooper Koch.

While going through the top 5 most iconic full-frontal on screen moments over the years on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Koch said he fully kept it real during filming.

While discussing Mark Wahlberg's "prosthetic d---" in Boogie Nights, Koch jumped in to share: “Also just to say, mine was not a prosthetic."

“Well that was going to be my next question,” Cohen replied. “Congratulations to you, Cooper. You’re very blessed, aren’t you?"

Mark Wahlberg

To play the legendarily well-endowed Eddie Adams aka Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights, Mark Wahlberg went faux.

In an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2014, Wahlberg recalled the process of having the prosthetic made for the 1997 film.

"It's very uncomfortable, very awkward," he said.

He said of all the movies he's shot since, the finished product is the only prop he's ever kept. In 2022, he shared that it's locked away in a safe.

Finn Wittrock referred to Wahlberg's character when having to go through his own prosthetic penis fitting.

In an interview with SiriusXM's Bruce Bozzi discussing his role in Ryan Murphy's Ratched Wittrock says he "found my inner Dirk Diggler."

Wittrock said Murphy himself helped him to figure out how to navigate the process.

"Ryan came to set that day, kind of talked me through. I was like, 'Uh how much of this are we going to see? What's going to happen?'" Wittrock recalled. "He's like, 'It's going to be very tasteful and very far away,' and it actually was — it's like, the briefest of seconds."

"I've done prosthetic noses, hands, necks, but I didn't think I would ever be doing that," he concluded.

Seth Meyers had a pun-ishing series of questions for Fellow Travelers star Jonathan Bailey when it came to the sex scenes in the series, asking if he had "a hand in the decision making" for the "props."

"Just one hand," Bailey said with a laugh, before adding that, while much of his character's appearance changes throughout the show, there was one thing that stayed the same.

Though the image is blurred, Meyers that shows what is implied to be a photo of the various prosthetics that were available for Bailey to choose from.

"They've all got their different personalities," Bailey said.

During the first episode of season two of The White Lotus, viewers got a glimpse of what appeared to be a totally nude Theo James.

"Good for you, by the way," Jimmy Fallon told James of the impressive reveal, on an episode of The Tonight Show.

After having some fun with the bit, James relents and admits "the truth of it."

"It's a pee-pee prosthetic," he says before saying of its impressive stature, "it's like [the makeup designer] stole it off a donkey in the field."

Sebastian Stan

There was less speculation about the reality of Sebastian Stan's appendage in Pam & Tommy, given the fact that it does, in fact, talk, but nevertheless, The Apprentice actor opened up about what went into making the prop come to life.

"The whole thing was more manual than I thought," he explained saying it was both "robotics" and "puppetry."

"There were two men that actually made it move from 20 feet behind me," he said.

Though Simon Rex first tried to keep the mystery alive as to whether the penis shown in Red Rocket was real or not, he eventually admitted that it was in fact a prosthesis.

He said though he "wasn't allowed" to keep the prop, "it will be in a museum one day."

Adam Demos

With a title like Sex/Life, it's no surprise that this Netflix series had its fair share of sex scenes — and the nudity that ensued. One particular shower scene got plenty of people talking, and for a a while, the actors weren't talking.

Showrunner Stacy Rukeyser told Collider Demos did not use not a body double — but wouldn't reveal whether a prosthetic was involved. "I can tell you what Adam Demos says about it which is, A gentleman never tells. So, we are leaving that up to the viewer's imagination."

But after all of the "good humored speculation," Demos confirmed to The Daily Telegraph (per Elle) that it was indeed a prosthetic.

"My mates have ammunition on me forever with that scene," he added. "They think it was hilarious.”
