Andy Halliday has broken his silence over his viral moment with Jimmy Thelin at Pittodrie - and told the REAL version of events.

The Motherwell midfielder was captured by the cameras going in for a handshake with the Aberdeen gaffer and it appeared he was in fact IGNORED by the Swede as the hosts captured another three points in front of a packed out home crowd to make it five wins from five to keep on the tails of Celtic - who also boast a perfect record at this early stage. Pape Gueye hit a match winning double with the Dons now making it TEN competitive wins on the spin.

Life could hardly be better in the Granite City in the early stages of Thelin's reign but it was a short clip from Sportscene that ended up grabbing the attention of fans from the full-time scenes. Right on the whistle, the Aberdeen gaffer appeared to snub off a handshake from Halliday after working his way through the Motherwell officials and coaching staff.

Clyde 1 Superscoreboard host Gordon Duncan brought up the moment on air to the very man himself and he's given his version of events. He explained: "The beauty of cut scenes. That is all I am going to say.

"Listen, don't get me wrong there was that awkward moment of was he trying to shake my hand or not. I am not too sure but he shook a wee hand after. He was definitely going in for an initial handshake with a coach not me, for sure."
