Reason police swarmed playing field

Police swarmed a field this morning after two dogs were found abandoned. Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to King George V playing fields in Huyton at around 6.45am today, November 8.

The dogs are believed to have been tired to a tree, with police attending alongside Dogs Trust to assist with the rescue. The charity confirmed the dogs were taken to a rehoming centre where they are being cared for.

A Dogs Trust spokesperson said: "After receiving a call for help on Friday 8th November, staff from Dogs Trust Merseyside collected two dogs that were found tied to a tree in Liverpool. The dogs are currently being looked after by the team in our rehoming centre."

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "We received a report that two dogs had been left abandoned on a field off Longview Lane, in Huyton, at around 6.45am this morning, Friday 8 November. The dogs have been collected by a specialist dogs’ charity."
