FIREFIGHTERS have said the reason for a large emergency services presence in Sansome Walk is due to a kitchen fire.

As we have been reporting police, fire and ambulance have been spotted at the junction of Sansome Walk and Pierpoint Street, with the area blocked off at around 6pm.

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue spokesperson has now told us: "We have been called to a kitchen fire at premises in Sansome Walk.

"Four applicances including three from Worcester and one from Droitwich have attended.

"Crews have been dealing with the fire in a ground-floor kitchen.

"All persons have been accounted for."

The spokesperson added a fire investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Firefighters were still at the scene at 6.45pm.
