Rebecca Ryan has given birth to a baby girl.

The 32-year-old actress - who played Lydia Chambers in 'Coronation Street' - has taken to social media to announce the arrival of her first child with her husband Dan Acraman.

Alongside a photo of her daughter cuddled up in a white blanket, Rebecca wrote on Instagram: "Welcome to the world my beautiful baby girl Aurora."

The actress - who first rose to stardom on the Channel 4 comedy series 'Shameless' - has already been inundated with congratulatory messages from some of her showbiz pals.

Elle Mulvaney - who plays Amy Barlow on the ITV soap - wrote: "Omg. the cutest. so so happy for you. (sic)"

Mollie Gallagher - who plays Nina Lucas on 'Coronation Street' - simply said: "Massive congratulations."

Rebecca actually announced her pregnancy via social media in December.

The actress took to Instagram to post a photo of her growing baby bump alongside a Christmas tree.

She wrote at the time: "I thought this year couldn’t get any better after marrying the man of my dreams, but it turns out it can…[heart emoji] Can’t wait to become a mummy in 2023 x (sic)"

Prior to that, Rebecca opened up about her wedding day, describing Dan as her "soul mate" and the "most amazing" man she could have ever wished for.

The actress - who previously postponed their wedding due to COVID-19 restrictions - wrote: "The day I married my soul mate, my best friend and the most amazing husband I could ever wish for! All that changes its only everything when the right one comes along. Here's to forever! (sic)"
