Rebekah Vardy has suggested I’m A Celebrity is “fake”, claiming that some scenes are filmed repeatedly and that camp mates are told what to talk about.

The star, who is married to Leicester City ace Jamie Vardy, appeared on the show in 2017 and has now spoken out about the lengths producers will go to shoot the entertainment series.

Speaking to Heat, she said: “How edited it is, even down to us walking to the trials. We had to do that walk three or four times.

“Any time that you see people sat around the fire, usually someone’s been called to the Bush Telegraph and comes out with a bit of paper and says, ‘We all need to discuss this topic’.”

Vardy, 36, also told the publication that the camp – which looks very real to fans – is actually “all fake with cameras everywhere”.

She said: “I lost count of how many cameras there are. Above your head, the cameras are on zip-wires, so they follow you everywhere! It’s crazy, it’s like Big Brother – you’re watched and listened to 24 hours a day.”

However, Vardy did provide some respite for fans of the show unwilling to believe her comments by pointing out that the minimal intake of food is real, with contestants needing to be “on their last legs” for anything extra.

When contacted by Standard Online, ITV said: "What viewers see on screen is a fair and accurate representation of life in camp."

During her time in the jungle, Vardy was hit by “bullying” claims over her attitude towards Iain Lee .

Fans of the show branded her mental health ambassador role with UK charity YoungMinds a “joke” after she was caught up in a spat with the talkRADIO presenter.

Vardy claimed that Lee, who suffers from depression, was “playing the sympathy card” and would “take the limelight” when being filmed.

I’m A Celebrity continues Tuesday at 9pm on ITV.
