Rebel Wilson Reveals ‘Large South African Burlesque Dancer’ Did Her Grimsby Nude Scene

Rebel Wilson used a “larger South African burlesque dancer” as a body double for her “full frontal” nude scene in Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy film Grimsby.

The 36-year-old curvaceous star clearly has certain boundaries when it comes to the amount of flesh she bares on screen and made sure it was written into her contract that there would be “no nudity”.

And although Sacha, 44, tried to convince her she would look great dancing naked in the comedy film, the director finally hired the blonde professional stripper because Rebel stuck to her guns.

She said: “They wanted full-frontal nudity. We write in the contract, specifically, ‘No nudity’. They got in another girl - this larger burlesque dancer from South Africa - to be a nude double.

“And they got her to do all this stuff. Sacha would go, 'See, she looks good.’ I’m like, I’m not doing it! I don’t care what you say.’ ”

However, the Aussie star of Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect admitted she would break her own rule and don her birthday suit for a more “serious” film role.

She said: “You want to know that the people [behind the camera] have a certain sensibility and decency. And a lot of times in comedy they’re not those people.”

Rebel’s younger self would cringe at the thought of her posing naked now, because the actress was painfully “shy” as a kid, which is why her mother made her attend acting classes.

She told Marie Claire: “I was so unusually shy, bordering on a social disorder. So my mum - one day she drives me to this community acting class. I was holding on to the car door and crying. She had to peel me off the car. She’s like, 'I’ll pick you up in two hours’ and she left me.’ ”
